Initiative to create mentally healthy workplaces

Workplaces have been urged to share their strategies on creating a ‘mentally healthy’ workplace culture as part of a national initiative launched to improve mental health in the workplace.

The program is a collaboration with the Black Dog Institute, the National Mental Health Commission and the Mentally Healthy Workplace Alliance (MHWA) and aims to develop an economic case for improving mental health in the workplace and provide employers with practical guidance to drive sustainable changes in business culture and practice.

University of NSW and Black Dog Institute researcher Dr Sam Harvey is implementing the research and review component of the MHWA and is encouraging workplaces to discuss what has and hasn’t worked for them.
